Your Privacy
This page explains what information our website collects, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. We don't sell your information, and we don't use advertising or tracking tools on this website.
What we collect
- When you place an order: the items, prices and totals, and the table number if you're dining in. Your name and phone number are optional.
- Rimal Rewards: if you give a phone number with a paid order, we keep a rewards account with that number, the name on the order, how many paid purchases you've made and what they came to, and any free platters waiting for you.
- Staff sign-in: our staff sign in to the manager dashboard with an email and password. Customers don't need an account.
What stays on your own device
The website saves a few things in your browser's local storage so they're still there when you come back: your cart, the table you picked, the name and phone number you used for Rewards, and the order numbers of orders placed from that device. We don't use cookies, and we don't track you across other websites. The Google map on the Visit page is provided by Google, which may set its own cookies as described in Google's Privacy Policy. Pressing "Sign Out" on the Rewards page removes your name, phone number, table and order numbers from that device. Clearing your browser's data for this site removes everything.
How we use it
- To prepare your order and bring it to your table or have it ready at the counter.
- To count paid orders toward Rimal Rewards.
- To text you that your order is ready, if you gave us your number. Our staff send this one text themselves from a restaurant phone or tablet. If you'd rather not get it, leave the phone number blank or tell our staff. We don't send marketing texts or emails.
- To keep sales and tax records.
Who can see it
Only our signed-in staff can see orders and Rewards accounts. Looking up a phone number on the Rewards page shows only that number's progress toward a free platter, never a name or past orders. Your order history is shown only on the device the orders were placed from.
We use these services to run the website. Each one handles information only to provide its service:
- Supabase: stores orders, Rewards accounts and our menu.
- Netlify: hosts the website.
- Google Fonts and Google Maps (the map on the Visit page), Unsplash (some photos) and jsDelivr (website code). Like any website, these receive your device's IP address when your browser loads them.
We don't sell your information or share it for advertising. We may disclose information if the law requires it, for example to comply with a court order.
How long we keep it
We keep each kind of information only as long as we need it:
- Your name and phone number on an order: 90 days after the order, then they are erased automatically. We keep the sale itself (items, prices, tax and date) without your name or phone, because the law requires us to keep tax records.
- Your Rimal Rewards account: deleted automatically after 24 months with no purchases, unless a free platter is still waiting for you.
- Information on your own device: stays until you press "Sign Out" on the Rewards page or clear your browser's data.
You can ask us to delete your information sooner, as described below.
Your choices
To see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, call us at (347) 497-4004 or ask our staff in person. Deleting your phone number also deletes your Rewards progress.
Security
The website uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Customer information can only be read by signed-in staff, and staff sign-in can require a code from a phone app in addition to the password. No website is perfectly secure. If something ever went wrong with your information, we would tell you as the law requires.
Do Not Track
Some browsers can send a "Do Not Track" signal. This website doesn't track you across other sites, so it works the same whether or not that signal is on. Google may collect information through the map as described in its own policy.
Payments
The website doesn't take card payments. You pay at the counter or at your table.
Rimal Rewards
- Joining is free. Add your phone number to an order to take part.
- Every 5 paid purchases made with the same phone number earn one free gift platter.
- A purchase counts once our staff mark the order paid.
- To collect a free platter, tell our staff at the counter.
Children
This website isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change how we handle information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
Accessibility
We want everyone to be able to see our menu and order from us. We are working to make this website meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. It is designed to work with a keyboard and with screen readers, and to keep text readable against its background.
